Mayfield expands automated payment options

Mayfield Brain & Spine has launched a telephone-based automated payment portal that will allow patients to securely access and settle their accounts at the most convenient time for them.

The software program went live in mid-September, making it easier for customers to pay Mayfield on any day at any time, without speaking with a representative or visiting a Mayfield office in person.

Patients can still call to have payment questions answered during business hours, and they can still pay online.

“We are constantly looking for ways to make it easier for our patients and their families to interact with Mayfield,” said Chris Lah, Mayfield’s senior director of revenue cycle management. “When it comes to payment, security and convenience are the top priorities, and this new system makes it safer and easier to access your Mayfield payment account.”

Previously, nearly three-quarters of Mayfield patients paid during business hours either in person at one of five offices or over the phone by providing a credit card or check number.

Using the new software, callers to the office will be directed into the automated portal, and they can reach that portal at any time by calling Mayfield’s main billing line at 513-569-5300 or 800-325-7787 – and push 1. Patients can enter the credit card or check information to the secure portal and receive a reference number for the payment. Mayfield does not hold the patient payment information as part of a patient’s record.
